About Kanajar

Kanajar, a serene beautiful place at the interior coast of Karnataka in Udupi district, is surrounded by hills and mountains with rich vegetation. It is on the Bailoor-Moodubelle-Udupi road, located at a distance of about 3 Kms from Bailoor. (Map)

Lourdes church Kanajar, Brahmalingeshwara temple Kanajar and Mahalingeshwara temple Kowdoor are the main places of worship in the region. Friends Club, Ranganapalke and Jyothi Yuvaka Mandala, Kanajar, are the non-religious affiliations which endeavor in preserving the cultural and social heritage.

Kanajar Welfare Association (KWA) also known as Lourdes Kanajar Zamath is an organization of Kanajar parishioners living in various Countries. The prime motto of the Organization is the development of Kanajar into a most modern, infra-structurally self-sufficient neighborhood so that all the people will benefit regardless of their caste, creed or religion.
